Make & Play 2

Line and texture, printing, collage and sculpture, high and low sounds, playing instruments, folk dance and performing a story.

Units

   Line and texture

   Draw lines that feel soft, sharp, bumpy or fuzzy, and use rubbings to catch the feel of real things.

2. Unit 2 · reading, lab, activity, quick check, quick check, activity

   Printing

   Press leaves, vegetables and blocks into paint and print the same picture again and again to make a repeating design.

3. Unit 3 · reading, activity, activity, quick check, quick check, activity

   Collage and 3D art

   Glue found materials flat into a collage, then build a small sculpture that takes up space and can be seen from all sides.

4. Unit 4 · reading, lab, activity, quick check, quick check, activity

   High and low sounds

   Sing and play sounds that climb up and down, and learn sa re ga ma to make your own melody.

5. Unit 5 · reading, lab, activity, quick check, quick check, activity

   Playing instruments together

   Play drums, shakers and a xylophone in a group, and discover what keeps everyone together.

6. Unit 6 · reading, activity, activity, quick check, quick check, activity

   Dance

   Learn a short folk dance in a circle, then make up your own moves that tell a story to music.

   Performing a story

   Rehearse a short scene again and again, then perform it for an audience, and see how practice makes it better.
